You’ve heard it said: It’s a numbers game. The more people you tell about your products and services, the more sales you’ll make.
That’s true, but it’s too simplistic. You want more than mere numbers; you want quality leads who are attracted to you and your offerings.
What techniques can you use to keep your pipeline full? Bill James knows; he’s been doing it successfully for more than three decades.
If you would like to spend less time, effort, and money marketing your business, and still have better results, you won’t want to miss what Bill has to share.
Magically Make Money with Mastermind Groups and Mentoring
To dramatically multiply your revenue, you have to leverage your time. How can you make more per hour without pricing yourself out of the market? By charging less to more people for the same time. Plus, if done well, a group offers more value to its members than a one-on-one session. This is the beauty of group coaching, mentoring and mastermind groups.
However, they are not easy to set up, run, and have a high percentage of renewals. There are plenty of ways to spend a lot of time without many registrants. And there are some tips that will help you have more success sooner. These three teleseminar experts will share with you need to do for success and what to avoid.
All SNN single-focused intensive packages are detailed here.
Virtual book clubs — Stephanie Scotti
Given that my book reviews brought the most hits on my blog, I decided to invite others to read along. Three years ago I started the Summer Reading Series. This virtual book club is free and easy. I select three books I believe will enhance communication skills. Readers have a month to read each book and at the end of the month I post a review and discussion questions on my blog. Each week readers receive reminders and I invite comments via email at any time during the three months.
Some clients have started a SRS within their organization. Year 2, there was enough interest that I hosted two live book clubs, each for a minimum of 90 minutes with lively discussion (one person even Skyped in).
To date there has been no cost to participate. Starting next year, my hope is to charge a nominal fee (~$15) that my company will match, with the money going for a scholarship offered through a group called Stand & Deliver. They work with inner city students to develop communications and presentation skills.
It has grown organically over the past 2 years, this is the 3rd annual. Have I gotten any direct business? Clients sign up and participate and call me for additional work. So, it keeps my name top-of-mind.
This summer’s books are:
Conduct market research with your audience — Rebecca Morgan
Some speakers include a list of their topics on their evaluation form and ask attendees to check the ones they’d like to hear next time. This is great market research. You can take it a step further if you are offering webinars. Add check boxes for them to check their preferred days of the week, as well as times of day.
Once you compile all the responses, you can then either tell the client the most-asked-for topic, day of the week and time. Or if you’re self-sponsoring webinars, you know what to offer and when you’re likely to get the most attendees.
iPhone recording app — Steve Miller
Just Press Record is an easy-to-dictate app. The best part, though, is it can also transcribe my dictation on the spot, which can then be emailed to me or anyone else.

Award ticket tip — George Walther
When booking award tickets, don’t assume that the first few options an airline offers online are the best. I’ve just redeemed miles for Galapagos, and found the exact same flights and itinerary at 45,000 in coach, and 35,000 in business. And this was on a date when the “calendar view” showed absolutely no “saver” awards available. I now know to always scroll through the options offered, suspecting that the best deals may be at the bottom of the list.
One-stop payment vendor wanted — Steve Hoffman
Does anyone have a recommendation for an all-in-one vendor for a subscription-based newsletter (other than Infusionsoft)? I’m looking for one that will accept payments, maintain a database of subscribers, add and remove subscribers, send renewal notices, allow for different-priced offerings and allow me to place my own content in the newsletter with my branding. I want to avoid having three or four different vendors to deal with.
Empire Radio membership? — Abby Marks Beale
Has anyone bought membership from Empire Radio? Was your investment successful? I’ll compile the responses for SNN.
SNN’s “Book Marketing Report—What Really Works” features success tactics of those who’ve recently published a book, covering which marketing techniques work in today’s market and which don’t. Marketing and sales are the bane of your existence. You love delivering your services, but you hate having to scare up new clients.
Your marketing budget is non-existent yet you need to do something to keep leads coming in. You know you need to do more than blog posts, tweets and LinkedIn status updates. You need to update your 1-sheet, website and other marketing materials but aren’t sure how to create compelling copy.

Could it be they have discovered that there is a wealth of possible business available, simply by spotting it when it is right in front of them and knowing how to leverage every advantage they can?
