Miscellaneous Tips

Contact open-enrollment training registrants beforehandRebecca Morgan

If you provide clients open-enrollment training, try emailing the enrollees a few days ahead. Ask them to let you know ASAP if they can’t make it (they often don’t tell the organizer), and giving them some questions to think about to prepare for the session’s discussions. If someone registered but can’t make it, they’ll let you know so you can alert the organizer to notify those on the waiting list, or adjust your activities to the new count. In a recent program, a registrant said she’d NEVER received correspondence from one of the presenters ahead of time, and she knew to take the class more seriously.

Topic of the Month (TOTM) — Your Input Wanted

Our TOTM is: What are your must-travel-with tech accessories, not just your phone, computer or tablet? Bonus points if you include a link to buy them.

I cannot go anywhere without my Anker Magnetic Battery for recharging my phone, air pods, and other devices, and the Anker Super Fast Charger to recharge the battery on the go.

Doug Dyment

My must-travel-with device combines a dual-port (USB-C and -A) wall charger with a 10,000 mAh portable charger.

Beth Terry

I swear by my ScotteVest. You can squirrel away so much in this vest. I have both the first one they made and the puffier one for colder climates. When going through TSA this is a godsend. All my important docs are there, all my necessary electronics (I even put my tablet in the pocket on my back!) It’s easy to just take off the vest and place it in the bin. I also have started interesting conversations with the TSA agents if they haven’t seen them. I make it all about “Isn’t this cool?!” And I’m so happy about it I’m sure I’ve skated through TSA easier because of it.

Sam HornYou may be surprised at how many long-time, “successful” speakers say that speaking is no longer their main source of income.

This may not be news to you: Our profession has changed.

It seems that nearly every entrepreneur, executive, entertainer, influencer, and Olympic athlete is now a speaker.

Many speak for free to sell their book, online program, or to build their platform.

So, what can you do if you want to share your message on the page and stage — and make a profitable living making a positive difference?

Sam will share best-practices on sustaining a successful speaking career.

In this session you will learn how to:

  • POP! out of your pack in an industry where everyone speaks/writes/consults on similar topics
  • Develop a strategic brand positioning and messaging that is current, compelling, and commercially viable
  • Craft original (not from AI) copy and repeatable-retweetable one-liners that take your work viral
  • Grow your platform and promote your work — without being a jerk
  • Leverage your EEE — your Expertise, Experience, Epiphanies — that make you unique and one-of-a-kind
  • Create 60-second elevator “intros” (not a speech) to the questions “What do you speak on?” and “Why should we hire you?”

Whether you’re just starting your business, or focused on scaling/sustaining your business, you’ll love Sam’s real-life stories, inspiring quotes, and actionable insights you can use today.

If you’ve been in one of Sam’s programs before, you know she does NOT waste your valuable time on theories. Get ready to take notes so you can immediately apply her proven best-practices to YOUR career.
