Great tool for editing PDFs — Cher Holton
One of my most-used apps is PDFCandy.com, which is an incredible online platform offering a suite of tools for managing and editing PDF files. It provides a wide range of features, including converting PDFs to various formats like Word, Excel, and JPG, merging and splitting PDFs, compressing files, editing PDF documents, and adding watermarks or page numbers. I find it extremely user-friendly, and is accessible directly from a web browser, making it simple to grab when you need it. One unusual way I’ve used it is to merge, edit, and delete a variety of different workbooks from different programs to create new ones. And the compression tool is nothing short of a miracle!
They have a free version, but I highly recommend purchasing their paid version. It offers an incredible amount of options and is well worth the very reasonable cost. And right now, they are offering a deal.

What’s the difference between thought leadership and content marketing? A recent article in Trade Press Services discusses how they differ. In it, author Geri Knilans not only gives an excellent explanation, but she highlights the power of exploring distinctions. It’s a content strategy everyone can apply.
Showcasing nuances shows deep thinking. Plus, drilling down on a topic in this way conveys two compelling narratives that make you stand out. It shows:
- You’re on the front lines and know what’s going on. Buyers look for content that shows a deep understanding of their world. By comparing two similar things, folks assume this nuanced approach is the rule, not the exception.
- You know stuff that others haven’t thought about. These kinds of articles are a great way of pointing out mistakes in thinking without calling folks stupid. More educational, less confrontive. This builds trust, as buyers assume that we’re here to help, not to boost our ego by heckling mistakes.
Nuanced content like this makes your thinking appear sophisticated and based on the real world. It builds the narrative that you are a creative thinker and builds anticipation for future hot takes. Not a bad brand place to be in.

Travel Tips
When connecting from a small airlines, allow extra time — Rebecca Morgan
There is a higher likelihood for delays with a tiny airlines. If you are connecting from a small airlines to a large one, allow for extra time, if possible. This week, my tiny airline from Mammoth, CA to LAX was delayed 2 hours. I was grateful I’d made my next flight from LAX 4 hours from my original LAX arrival time. If I’d booked the connecting flight with only 2 hours connecting time, I would have missed it and it would have required an unexpected overnight stay.

What pays off for me is the classic scheduled time for year-end reflection. I look at sources of income/clients, who was delightful to work with, programs I most enjoyed doing and where I do not want to put my energy moving forward. Deciding what to say no to or not to promote is so beneficial! I use that info to plan for the next year or two.
Sit quietly away from electronic devices and contemplate what has worked well over the last year or the last several years. Then contemplate how to optimize what is already working well. Consider what has not worked well, has been a drain on your resources, and is best removed from your agenda: muster the mental and emotional strength to walk away from what does not work.
Thus, heading into the new year you will feel energized, knowing you’re going to accent what works well and vanquish what doesn’t.
