Who we are
Rebecca Morgan, CSP, CMC and Ken Braly operate the business SpeakerNet News and the website https://www.speakernetnews.com.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you subscribe to the SpeakerNet News weekly newsletter, you provide us with your email address and, optionally, your name. We may use this information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials, and other information that may be of interest to you.
You may opt out of receiving these communications at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link provided in any email we send.
Should you order any products from our website, our shopping cart will collect personal information like name, address, email address, and phone number. It will also collect payment information, like credit card or PayPal. We use these to process your order and deliver to you the products you have selected, and to be able to follow up should any problems arise.
As you look at pages on the website, information is collected including your IP address, what pages you visited, and details of the browser and computer operating system you are using. This information is used strictly for analyzing traffic usage on the website.
If you send in a tip to the SpeakerNet News newsletter, we will publish the item in the newsletter with your name and email address, so that other readers can contact you about your tip. The newsletter issue will be posted on the SNN website.
Retention of Information
As long as you are an active subscriber to our newsletter, our mailing list service — Constant Contact — keeps your email address in its Active list. If you click Unsubscribe, your email address is moved to Constant Contact’s Unsubscribed list.
If you wish to have your email address deleted entirely from Constant Contact, write to us at email@example.com and we will delete it.
When you order a product from us, our order processing services — DirectPay and 1ShoppingCart — retain the personal information, the order information, and some of the financial information related to your order (only the last 4 digits of your credit card number are retained).
In addition, we keep the personal and order information in our internal database.
Each issue of the SNN newsletter is posted on the website for three weeks, after which it is deleted. If you have compiled responses to your question from other readers and we have published the compilation on our website, your name and email address will be published along with the compilation. If you responded to another reader and your response is included in the compilation, your name will be shown, but nothing further.
If you wish to have any of this information permanently deleted, write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will delete it.
Who we share your data with
If you register to attend the live session of one of our teleseminars or webinars, we share your name and email address with the expert we are interviewing for that program.
We do not share any of your data with anyone else.
Protection of your data
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. All financial transactions use secure payment systems. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
